A smaller, quieter mind
A private place to get things out of your head.
Write it down. Throw it away, or keep it locked. Nothing you write is sent anywhere.
How it works
Binned is simple on purpose. You write, then you choose what happens next.
1. Write it down
Type whatever's on your mind.
2. Throw it away or keep it
Wipe it, or save it in a locked Drawer on your phone.
3. Your words stay on your phone
Nothing you write is sent anywhere.
Why people use it
Getting something out of your head. Not writing it somewhere permanent, and not writing it somewhere someone else might read it.
Venting
Write down what's bothering you.
Sorting out a thought
Work through a feeling before you decide what to do about it.
Stop carrying it around
Put it on the page so it's not just in your head anymore.
Your privacy comes first
Binned is designed to be private. Here's what that means for your data.
No account
No sign-up, no email, no password. Nothing to tie what you write to who you are.
Encrypted on your phone
Anything you keep is stored in an encrypted database on your phone, not in the cloud.
No ads or analytics
We don't track how you use the app or collect any data to sell, because we don't collect it at all.
Screenshots blocked
Binned blocks screenshots and hides its content from your phone's app switcher while it's open.
What's inside
A few simple features to help you get things out of your head.
Say it
Talk instead of typing. Your phone turns your voice into text on the device itself.
Tags
Mark a page as a rant, a worry, a regret, being mad at someone, or leave it random.
Drawer lock
Use your phone's fingerprint, face, or PIN to lock your Drawer. If your phone doesn't have one, the lock turns itself off.
Save a copy
Export an encrypted backup whenever you want, to wherever you choose. It only opens again on the same phone.
Current status
Binned is in early testing with a small group of people before it's available to everyone.
If you want to try it early, email hello@binned.app and we'll get you set up on Android or iPhone.
What's next
Writing a page and throwing it away will always be free.
Later, we plan to add a paid option for people who want more space in their Drawer or automatic backups. Nothing about that is decided in detail yet. We're in no rush to add anything that doesn't genuinely help.
